Span America Rexx and Rexx Fast Hospital Bed
The Span America Rexx Bed is a hospital-style bed designed for home use, built to support everyday care, positioning, and safer transfers.
It is available in two versions:
- Rexx Bed – Standard model with electric height and positioning adjustments
- Rexx Fast Bed – Includes faster height adjustment for quicker repositioning during care
Both models allow adjustment of the bed height, backrest, and knee sections, helping with sitting up, lying back, and general comfort throughout the day. The orthopedic grid deck provides firm support and allows airflow beneath the mattress. The bed supports users up to 450 lbs.
Optional features include 360° mobility for easier movement, floor locks for added stability, and foot-end controls for quicker access to adjustments.
Rexx vs Rexx Fast Bed – What’s the Difference?
Both beds are built on the same platform, with the main difference being how quickly the bed adjusts in height.
Rexx Bed (Standard Model)
- Height range: 7-7/8″ to 26″
Rexx Bed Foot-End Controls
Optional foot-end controls give caregivers quick access to key bed adjustments without using the hand pendant.
They allow easy changes to height and positioning, and include a lockout feature to prevent unwanted or accidental use.
This can be useful where the bed is adjusted frequently or used in a shared care setting.
Rexx Bed Functions and Options Features
Fast-Rising Option – What It Helps With
The fast-rising option allows the bed to move from low to high in around 20 seconds, making height adjustments quicker during care.
This can be helpful where the bed is adjusted frequently, as it reduces waiting time and helps caregivers work more efficiently throughout the day.
Mobility for Positioning and Room Movement
The Rexx bed includes mobility casters that allow it to be repositioned within the room when needed.
This helps with cleaning, room setup, and general movement of the bed during care. The locking system keeps the bed securely in place once positioned.
42″ Tool-less Width Expanders
Optional width expanders allow the sleep surface to be increased up to 42″, providing additional space when needed.
They attach without tools and can be removed again if a narrower width is required, for example when moving the bed through tighter spaces.
This makes it easier to adjust the bed setup based on the user and the room.
