Ideal for the gym, our Looped exercise aids feature strong loops which can be slipped over the handles of exercise machines with open-ended bars. For example, use them with pull down bars or rowing machines. If you prefer to be outside they’re also an essential extra for some hand bikes. Looped aids feature adjustable padded wrist straps to prevent chafing.

Designed for independent use. Looped exercise aids easily slide on and off your machine or hand bike when not under tension. They allow complete independence and the ability to ‘let go’ during rest periods. The loops have some strong material inside making them slightly rigid, and therefore easier to slip on and off your equipment.

I use the Looped aid when I row in my single (one-person boat), or when I use the erg (rowing machine). When rowing in my single, I have to hold an oar in each hand. With only a thumb and a crooked pinky finger, I cannot grip the oar and pull with full force: I tape the loop part of the gripping aid on the oar so that it doesn’t rotate, and attach the grip aid to my wrist. I can then pull as hard as I want. –Véronique Boucher

Looped exercise aids come in small/standard or large and are sold as a pair. Please check the size guide on the tab above to find your size.

If you want more support to access the gym, check out our Gym Pack Deluxe. This contains the Looped aids as well as our other most popular gripping aids.

Active Hands gripping aids are gentle on the skin and made to last. Built from tough webbing and comfortable but durable neoprene they’re designed to withstand regular use, even for strenuous activities. All of our gripping aids are machine washable.

    Tracey Flynn (verified owner) –

A total game changer. I have chronic rheumatoid arthritis, and can’t grip (I also shouldn’t grip). These aids mean I can now use a rowing machine at the gym, for the first time in 18 years! It’s allowed me to use a far wider range of equipment for the upper body, and the design makes this so easy to adapt gym equipment.

Bought for my son who had a stroke and has a compromised left hand.He has used the aid in the gym and said it is ‘brilliant.’

I thought these were really expensive but they are great.I have bad repetitive strain injury in both wrists which means I cannot pull anything with my hands.I can now use a rowing machine, do various weights on different pulley machines and use gym equipment that I thought I could no longer use.

Great Product – I am missing most of my right hand and this helps with lat pulldowns. Only issue is that after a certain weight in the lat pulldown it starts to feel uncomfortable/hurt pulling down the weight with the small loop. Wish there was a bigger loop option to distribute the tension/load
