- Interferential Current ~ The Interferential waveform consists of two channels, each with a sinusoidal waveform; one of fixed frequency and one of variable frequency.When the four electrodes are positioned so that the two channels crosseach other, the waveforms mix within the tissue to produce a train ofpulses whose frequencies and amplitude are dependent on the sweepmode, beat frequency and amplitude settings, respectively.
- Premodulated~ The Premodulated waveform is an amplitude modulated sine.wave. This waveform is similar to the beat frequency, or patterncreated by Interferential current. In some cases, Premodulatedtherapy provides a good alternative for Interferentialtreatment, especially when treating areas of thebody where four electrodes can not be utilized.
- Russian CurrentMedium Frequency Bursted Sine Wave ~ The Russian current is a 2,500 Hz sinusoidalcarrier wave, interrupted to create a burst ofpulses. The burst frequency sets the numberof bursts per second, whereas the duty cyclesets the duration of the burst. Russian currentproduces strong comfortable muscle contractionshaving the flexibility for use with large and smallmuscle groups.
- Twin-Peak High Volt Pulsed Current ~ The pulse parametersof the Twin-Peak HighVolt current are thefactors that allow a great variety ofphysiologic responses. The important benefit is versatility in clinicalapplication. Examples for clinicaluse include: relaxation of musclespasms, prevention or retardationof disuse atrophy, increasinglocal blood circulation, musclere-education, and maintainingor increasing range of motion.Unlike currents with a very longphase duration, the very shortpulse duration of the Twin-PeakHigh Volt current creates comfortable stimulation. The very shortpulse duration followed by a verylong interpulse interval eliminates theformation of any appreciable chemicaleffects in the stimulated tissue.
